Pakistan on Tuesday has ratified the Saarc Additional Protocol on the Convention for the Suppression on Terrorism, expressing its resolve to fight terrorism and root it out from this region.

The leaders of Saarc Member States during the Islamabad 12th Saarc Summit in January 2004 had signed the Saarc Additional Protocol on the Convention for the Suppression on Terrorism.

A foreign office statement said Pakistan had always stood firm to the principles and objectives of the Saarc Charter to promote peace, stability, amity and progress in the region.

Pakistan would continue to make unremitting efforts to promote the prospects of regional co-operation in South Asia, the statement added.
